It's not terrible, just not fantastic

It's alright. Turning is fine. Locks up a lot. I know it doesn't come with an alignment system, but man it locks up a lot. To the point my wife refuses to scramble it for me. Got it because I wanted a black with sticker version for my collection. Maybe the V2 ist better?

Came out of the box gross

Turns horribly but this was expected. Came out of the box WET with lube and really quite disgusting. It came in a bag within the box and the bag actually had a puddle of lube in it. It's a fun puzzle though and definitely would recommend.

This puzzle's tensions out of the box were fairly tight, and I'd definitely recommend loosening them about 2 full screwdriver's turn, 2 1/2 if you're feeling generous. The spring noise is very noticable on 3-4 of the faces, and I would definitely recommend putting a dash of very thick lube in the core. Maybe order a set of washers if you can because this puzzle doesn't come with any. Some stickers started lifting up on the edges after one or two solves, so consider restickering. It's not a speedcube but you can fingertrick it if you loosen the tensions up. Just be careful not to strip the core.
