Customers praised this magnetic 4x4 cube as "the best 4x4 out there" with exceptional outer layers and smooth, fast turning. The lightweight design features strong magnets for alignment and minimal popping. However, some noted it's expensive, very fast out of the box, and has tension sensitivity that can cause catching or explosions if loosened too much.
- Turning is super fast and good. Strong magnets make it much easier to align 10/10
- The outer layers are just incredible. This cube is just a joy to solve
- Out of the box spins like an ice skater. After lube treatment, it is now glorious!!

Before people flame me, I own the aosu double track, triple track, and even the picube double track. I still like the gan V2 better than all of them. The moyu ones have better inner layers, but the Gan outer layers are just incredible, and the inner layers aren't far behind. This cube is just a joy to solve and is now my new main.
The best 4x4 out there. Turning is super fast and good. Very light too. Strong magnets make it much easier to align 10/10
I really enjoy this cube, it's light and airy, surprised I like it actually because I hated the gan 5 with a passion. It comes extremely fast out of the box (Doing Uw4 with a single flick) I put 8 drops of solar on outers and 4 drops on inners and that made it feel really good, imo the tensions also came very nicely setup already. One weird thing about this cube is that the wide moves sound like water sloshing, but that's kind cool imo bc I don't think I've heard a cube make that noise before
If you have the Gan 5x5, you know how good Gan’s big cubes are now and this 4x4 does not disappoint. I would say that most reviews are right in saying that the outer layers do feel like a regular 3x3. Something that I don’t hear many people talking about is the weight of this cube, cause it is extremely light, lighter than some of my old 3x3's. The only downsides is that it is very fast out of the box but that can be fixed with some galaxy, comet, and martian and the middle layers were catching sometimes when I first used the cube, but I have since adjusted my turning over the last couple hours and rarely catch anymore. If Ihad to describe te turning, I would say if feels like the super weilong v2 mied with the gan 5x5 but closer to the 5x5. Similar to the gan 5x5, the magnet strength is stronger on the inside layers (or that's what it feels like), which adds to the effect of the outer layer feeling like a 3x3. Compared to the Aosu v7, the gan 4x4 is much more durable and less prone to popping, even with the catches that were occurring earlier. One last thing, I have accidentally dropped this cube on concrete multiple times, even though I've had it for less than 12 hours, and there are no significant scratches or marks on the cube. Overall, I would recommend this cube, even for the price, as it’s years better than the V1 or any other 4x4 on the market.
My fav 4x4 so far.
The GAN 460 M has a very distinct, stable feel thanks to its magnet layout. The turning is smooth and controlled, and the cube rarely pops or locks up. It’s a bit heavier than some competitors, but that weight adds to the stability. It’s a great cube for solvers who prefer a more controlled 4x4 experience.
This cube is awesome! Right out of the box it was crazy fast (I enjoy fast cubes so this wasn’t a problem for me). It had a light, crispy feeling that was super unique, and the wide moves also sound really cool. Lockups haven’t really been a problem, and it’s only “popped” once.
Fantastic
I had an excellent experience ordering my gan 4x4 from SpeedCubeShop. The ordering process was smooth and straightforward, with detailed product information that made it easy to choose the right cube. I also appreciate the setup options and clear descriptions, which show how much SpeedCubeShop understands cubers’ needs.
My order shipped very quickly and arrived sooner than expected. The cube was packaged securely and arrived in perfect condition. Right out of the box, the gan 4x4 felt amazing—smooth, fast, and very controllable. It was clear that care was taken in the setup, as the cube didn’t require any immediate adjustments to perform well.
Performance-wise, this gan 4x4 really stands out. The turning is extremely smooth with excellent corner cutting and minimal catching, even during fast solves. The layers stay well-aligned, and the cube feels stable without being too tight. It handles both fast turning and precise finger tricks very well, which is especially important on a 4x4.
Overall, I’m very impressed with both the gan 4x4 and SpeedCubeShop’s service. Between the fast shipping, great packaging, and high-quality setup, this was a fantastic purchase. SpeedCubeShop continues to be my go-to cubing store, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable cubes and excellent customer service. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again.
My daughter loves it! It is smooth and easy to turn.
I love the turning, but there is 1 big problem here, it explodes
Like any other GAN cube this one is outstanding. Out of the box spins like an ice skater. After lube treatment, it is now glorious!!
Pretty good, hasn't popped which is good.
Good for people with an aggressive turning style.
great upgrade from v1 very smooth and fast
probably simmilar if not better performance than the aosu but its way more expensive.
I love this cube!
I've tried the Aosu and the VIN, and this is better than both of them.
This cube solves many problems the v1 had but also introduces a new problem. The v1 was very crunchy and the inner layers felt awful with lots of internal catching while the outer layers felt amazing.

The v2 however, is quite the opposite. Other than its extreme lightweight, yet high quality design, the inner layers are one of the best I've ever felt on a 4x4, but the outer layers are not at all like the v1. It loses a torpedo and is just a long stem/leg connecting to the core for "stability." The 4 center pieces also have a center skirt similar to what the first batch GAN 15 Maglev cubes included which just makes the GAN 460 v2 have a major catching issue for the outer layers. The cube does not have a lot of good tensions so corner cutting kinda sucks on the outside if you have a rough turning style. If you have a soft or light turning style like me though, I can say this is probably the 4x4 for you. It is now my main and I get the best times with it.

Extra info - the cube box is the GAN 562 box with extra plastic on the bottom to suit the size of the 4x4 so it doesn't jiggle around. It comes slightly lubed in the inside, 0 lube on the outside which is good. Worth the price? Honestly not sure. It's for a niche style of cubers and I highly suggest trying before buying if possible. The only obvious similarity to me to the v1, is the magnet capsules are back.
Now that I have spoken about the good... Lets talk about why this cube gets 3 stars today. This puzzle does NOT play nice with even reasonably loose tensions most cubers would attempt to adjust to. There is a major design flaw within this puzzle's midges specifically the way the small midge rides along the tracks of the large "Christmas tree" hidden edges, Due to the size of these edges I have noticed Gan have selected relatively tight springs, and found the middle layer corner cutting to be underwhelming on stock tensions. So I attempted to loosen the puzzle by a Quarter turn each side, standard practice for basically any adjustment, starting with quarter turns and working my way up or down as I go. When I did this, the tensions felt decent in the hand, but when I went and did the first solve the cube encountered a catastrophic pop in which the inner midge, which looks like a very standard 4x4 small midge with only a small single internal torpedo keeping it straight on the track, twisted within and refused to return properly to the tracks of the large edge due to the double tracked design, as a result the midge basically got pinched between those tracks, and when i attempted to wedge it back in the entire edge section DETONATED... and i am going to say right now... assembling this cube is TORTURE due to its design. Its very ironic because this design was supposed to reduce popping, and ended up causing the most violent 4x4 pop i have ever seen and literally sent peices under my desk and bed when i tried to place the edge back in. After I tightened the cube back up by an eighth of a turn on each side it felt way better and has not popped again. However a 65 dollar cube blowing up like that because I loosened it by a QUARTER TURN, not even because of bad turning or trying to fix it improperly, but because of an inherent design flaw in the pieces themselves. This cannot go without being mentioned due to the nature of this flaw and the limitations it places on adjustability, as well as the absolute NIGHTMARE i had getting just one edge section back together.... Like I could genuinely see a lot of these being returned in box disassembled due to these issues, and its a shame because a lot of effort and time went into designing this cube... But issues like this really limit who this cube will be good for. Even with my preferred tensions this cube is NOWHERE near as forgiving as the AoSu, I would compare even the Inner layers for a Gan 12 or 251, this cube is fast... blocky... and rewarding to precise fast turning. Punishing misalignments pretty hard and locking up at times with poor turning. Like my AoSu just BEHAVES... it doesn't lock up even when i get rough with it, and I have basically done nothing but lube it and keep it clean... I didn't touch the screws or need to adjust it at all. If you are looking for a safer bet and do not have the ability to try before you buy, I would feel MUCH more confident recommending that cube to cubers of all skill levels. However if you Like fast, blocky, frictionless turning. And do not mind a less flexible cube. Or are a fan of the GAN 5X5, this is going to be your favorite 4x4 just like it is for me. All in all, this cube is very polarizing, and I feel polarized by it.
I'm curious to see how good it is but I'm optimistic.
god
I like it and it's fun to play with.
Ive been waiting for this to come out for a while!
