Whenever you want to update your 4x4, the AoSu is the best option.
This is my first experience with a 4x4 cube, and I absolutely love it (unlike its bigger 5x5 sibling). After lubrication, the turning is smooth and controllable, with no lockups or similar issues. Although I’m still solving it slowly, it has been a great introduction to 4x4 cubes
So, I've had this for a while now and I'm enjoying it. I paid extra for Supernova Setup, but you could also set this up yourself if you want to save some money.
After doing a few solves, I can tell that this cube is very fast and has strong magnets. As I'm someone who prefers stronger magnets this is a great option for me. The magnets don't make turning too much harder and helps to align my turns really well.
Both the inner and outer layers feel really good, consistent, and smooth. During 3x3 stage, I've never had any issues with the middle layers coming out of alignment, and I've never had any lockups here.
This cube does have a high price, but I feel that the build quality and overall feeling of this cube is so good that it is worth the price.
