Customers praise this magnetic 5x5 cube as "the best on the market" with smooth, buttery turns and strong magnets. Most found it stiff out of the box requiring break-in and lubing, but after setup it becomes "amazing." Shoppers appreciate the excellent value compared to pricier alternatives. One customer noted excessive lube from a service option. Great corner cutting and comfortable size.
- The edges are just buttery smooth...one of, if not the best 5x5 cube out there.
- This 5x5 is THE best one on the market...complements my turning style perfectly.
- Massive leap forward in 5x5 hardware. A joy to turn and I can't put it down.

The cube turn's very well and doesn't seem to have much trouble with small catches. I think the main reason I chose this cube over the GAN is because I use the Reduction method. On the GAN you generally have to turn accurately and with reduction, that can be a slight annoyance. Fortunately, the Hong handles all that pretty well.
Too good
5x5 is my favorite non-3x3 event and this is a great cube for it. The magnets are strong but not overly so for edge pairing and the edges are just buttery smooth. Out of the box the turns feel papery/sandy and doesn't feel its full potential but after breaking in I definitely feel its one of, if not the best 5x5 cube out there.
Quick easy glide
I ordered this 5x5 a while ago because I was missing a 5x5 in my collection, so I ordered this one specifically because it captured my attention. Out of the box, this puzzle is a bit dry (at least for me it was), so I recommend setting it up or at least applying lube to it so that it becomes smoother and have a more enjoyable feeling. It doesn't have any adjustment system (well, it has a **** and spring mechanism
but who counts that), but I personally think the factory adjustments are perfect. As for the magnets, they are moderate-strong, and there is a ball-core but I don't really feel it that well (then again, maybe because this is my first 5x5). It doesn't have an excessive amount of accessories, only a screwdriver, a cleaning cloth, a pamphlet, and a cube collector card (I think that's what it is). Overall, this 5x5 is definitely a go-to option whether as your first 5x5, or as an upgrade, as long as you don't mind the price (which is worth it only if you know you will use this cube a lot).
this was actually my first xman cube, and it was so good i went and bought their 3x3. i do not speed solve big cubes, but this one turns very nicely and is a good size.
Out of the box, it’s stiff, but after doing some solves and lubing it, it is very good.
It’s my first 5x5 and i’m loving it.
Allot better than the mgc, but not as good as the gan, i would recommend if you are on a tight budget. This made me want to practice more and improve.
This 5x5 is THE best one on the market. In my opinion it is better than the Gan one for 2 reasons: (1) it is WAY cheaper and (2) it complements my turning style perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

This is probably the best 5 by 5 out there. The gan may be a bit faster but I'd rather have a cube be almost as good but not cost 70 dollars. Quick, smooth, and I've been using this cube for and never experienced a pop. I definitely recommend this.
I would say the gan is the best but this is a way better price. I’ve only felt this 5x5 and one crappy one but I still know this is the best. Also now that I got this I can’t wait to get more big cubes they so fun to solve. My only regret is that I’m only solving for fun and not speed solving. But that’s on my part. If you are just casually solving but you still want a good cube just get the MGC if your a speed solver and moneys not a problem get this or the gan. Personally I like x-man over gan. For some reason I have something against gan. I think it’s because they are way over priced. I’m sure they have there reasons except I don’t think it should cost 10 extra $ for UV coating. Think about it MOYU sells their meilong v2 for 10$ WITH UV coating. The packing is also simple and satisfying to unbox. It’s somewhat like a gan which I’ll give them that anyways that’s all I have to say. Oh wait actuall y I forgot to mention that with a perfect set up lube can make this cube fell literally delicious to solve
amazing cube omg i have nothing bad to say about it. it has to be broken in a little bit out of the box, but after a couple solves it’s so incredibly smooth
out of the box, it's really slow and sandy but after about 25 solves it feels great! in the past week since I've had it, I've done about 300 solves on it and it's amazing! I set it up with Stardust and Martian and now it's super fast and controllable. if you want a new main I highly recommend. I haven't tried the gan yet but I think this cube is probably just about as good and it's not 70 dollars lol
this was my first 5x5 and i am pretty much addicted to it
IMO this cube is a massive leap forward in 5x5 hardware. Its a joy to turn and I cant put it down. Highly recommend.
Cube is awesome. I paid for supernova lube service, and it was a bad idea. I am not sure if the lube service is supposed to be only for 3x3s, but for this 5x5, it is as though they dumped half a bottle of supernova into the cube. The plastic wrap and outside of the cube was soaked in lube. I had to disassemble, clean, and reapply lube, as the massive quantity made the cube unmanageable to handle and extremely slow. Once I undid the lube job that SCS did, and reapplied lube properly, the x-man Hong is awesome!
This cube is quite small so it takes a bit to get used to. Once I did though, it was incredible. This is easily the best 5x5 on the market.
it a great cube, core magnets and everything, and the box it comes in is really cool. its really expensive tho. probably the best 5x5 on the market, but really expensive, its my new main now
Great 5 x 5. I have not been able to put it down. Seriously great feel of the cube. Only thing I would ask for is stronger magnets in the outer layer but that's preference. Corner cutting is great, shades are awesome. My hands are normally tired after 10 solves on the Valk 5. Have solved 50+ times today.
Instant main 5x5, used to main the Valk for years and have been waiting for a new 5x5 for years. Not great out of the box and will need some lubing and breaking in. The corner cutting on the outer layer is great making the 3x3 stage easier.
I love this puzzle. It is definitely not the greatest straight out of the box but after cleaning a lubing it is amazing. The corner cutting is amazing and 3x3 stage on this thing is great. I couldn't ask for more out of a 5x5.
