Customers praised this magnetic 7x7 speed cube for its "smooth turning" and "amazing" value at $35. Many noted it's "stable" with strong magnets and good corner-cutting. Some mentioned it feels "stiff" or "loose" out of the box, requiring break-in or tension adjustment. A few reported occasional popping. Shoppers said it's larger than competitors but "best for the price."

My first 6x6 & 7x7

This was my first 6x6 and 7x7 cube, I had seen the reviews and knew it would be good, but I was very pleasantly surprised. For starters, it’s fast for a cube of it’s size. Even without any lube it’s pretty speedy. It’s corner cutting is great for a large cube, and it gets locked up and pops almost never. If your looking for a good main speed cube this would be great for you.

Big Cube, Big Performance

Stable inner layers and smooth outer layers. One of the best 7x7s for the price.

Easy to control, strong magnets

Pros:
Strong magnets
Easy to control
Good value
Good stability
Cons:
It requires more accuracy with turning

All in all, since most 7x7s are around $70 this really has a good value for money and I recommend it.

A really good 7x7 especially for the price

This is an excellent speed cube. I’ve been cubing for a few months (2x2, 3x3, and 4x4). Although I have not used other 7x7 speed cubes before, I was impressed with the performance of this one. A friend of mine who is into speedcubing said these are excellent cubes, and I agree. I do not believe it is finished like some other more expensive 3x3s I have used, but even at that, it is not easy to scratch. I so far have had no grip issues with it.

When I opened the cube, I noticed that it was a little gritty, and so I tried some plastic-safe silicone lubricant in it - that fixed the problem. It also was a little tight, and so I loosened the tension a bit (it comes with a very nice tension adjustment tool).

At times I’ve had some issues with control – on occasion I will only turn the outer layer but the one to the side of it turns as well. Not sure if it’s my technique or the 7x7 cube. Speaking of 7x7 cube, the reason the outside edges are larger is to give better grip and make handling better.

Overall, I would say this is an excellent cube and likely a good value for the money. I like the anti-sticky/ anti-friction design, and I believe it really helps

It's not top of the line but is still really good

It's not top of the line but is still really good. And it's a larger style cube compared to some of the newer ones being smaller.

So Good!

After breaking it in, this cube is extremely well made! All of the layers turn at the same frictionless speed, which was a bit of a problem on their 6x6. This is great for a low-budget seven by seven, and I love it!

Super cheap and decent

I have similar thoughts on this cube with the MGC 6x6 about how they're very budget friendly and that I would highly recommend these to bug cube beginners.

The MGC 7x7 actually feels quite big which might make it a little hard gripping the cube in your hands. Even as a person with long fingers, I didn't find holding a cube this size being very easy. However, that is just me finding out that I am in a need for a different 7x7 that lets me hold it comfortably. When I got this cube straight out of the box, I had no problem with it because I was a total beginner to 7x7. As I got better and faster at it, I began to realize that I was in a need of an upgrade. So therefore, I looked for a fast and smaller 7x7 in which I found the MoYu AoFu WRM. It's definitely faster and I could grip the cube much better. What also surprised me is that the AoFu is smaller than the MGC 6x6. MGC is just too big even for me with large hands.

For beginners, the size of the cube shouldn't be too much of a problem. I didn't really worry about the size that much when I was starting 7x7. If you are a beginner and don't really care much about the size, the MGC 7x7 is perfect, for the performance and the price. The faster option is the AoFu but it will cost more.

good out of the box but get worse over time

When I got this cube, it was great. I was going to use it as my main but after a while the outer layers became so locky that it was basically impossible to use. the inner layers also got very slow very fast. The green center also felt off right when I took it out of the box. I'm sure I just got unlucky due to the other reviews but I'm just getting the aofu instead.

Great quality, long lasting

I have had this cube for nearly a year now and it is still stable. I haven't had any issues with the cube, it is a little heavy but it has strong magnets, so the tradeoff is worth it. Amazing quality for the price.
