YJ MGC Square-1 V2 (Magnetic, UV Coated)

Compared to the v1 this one is definitely an upgrade the square-1 v2 has way more magnets and it turns really smooth, although it came a little dry out of the box…

This square one is great! It’s really dry out of the box but once you add lubricant it’s the best square 1 I’ve ever solved.

The puzzle turns great with good magnets. The only thing is its prone to pops if you turn too fast

This square-1 is soooo smooth! It has very strong magnets and the UV coating is very nice. This thing turns like butter and I like the option of being able to make the yellow side black. Overall, this puzzle is worth the price 100% and I highly recommend anyone to get it.

I’m a beginner in square one but it feels like a good speed cube and square one. I haven’t actually received mine yet because there has been a delay in my order which I’m a little upset about but I’ve used my friends once and it felt nice. If it didn’t get delayed I would have given it 5 stars.

Just bought this nice cube and I’ve seen many many many vids on this cube and ppl switch there main to this and I hope I can do that same I so excited

After buying the regular version of the MGC, I also got the uv-coated version so I could choose which version I wanted and return the other one. Of course, they are the same cube, and I prefer the uv-coated version of the MGC Square-One

Off rip the V2 is way faster and smoother than the original, It also helps that is is slightly larger and the UV coting gives it more grip. the only issues I have are that it is very difficult and time consuming to switch around the tiles and it ether pops if it is too loose or it locks up if it is too tight. Maybe it is a skill issue or I just have it set up wrong. Definitely going to be my main for a long time.

using it for a while now, i like how it feels when you turn slow which feels smooth but when you try to turn fast it snaps in place since the magnets are pretty strong. its my first square-1 so it doesn’t affect me since im not really speed solving it

This Square-1 is amazing! I am so glad to have bought this cube as it has quickly become my favorite SQ-1 in my collection. This is going to be my new competition cube.

This is my first SQ1 so I can't compare it to anything, but I would 100% recommend getting this. the UV coating adds a welcomed grippiness and glossy look. the magnets are good and the corner cutting is good too. definitely my main.

This is I think the best cube for beginners and professionals. I'm currently a beginner for sq1 but I'd say I'm almost at pro level for 3x3 so I think it's still fine to judge professional hardware👍 One thing for sure is definitely the slice move. The slice move is literally the best. Since it has core to edge magnets it's perfectly strong and smooth. The u, d layer was a bit dry at first but it became alot better after breaking in. But obviously since it doesn't have additional magnets for the u, d layer alignment it's not as good as the slice move and the magnet is pretty weak too. But the reason why I think it's still the best for all skill level is because of how good it performs for the price. When I first considered buying a sq1 I chose between the picube v1 or this one. Obviously the maxed out picube version is much better but it's almost 2 times the price. But the performance of the v2 is definitely not twice as bad. And also the breaking issue is completely gone. I had a few times where I turned the cube with force without the layer aligned to do the slice move. And the cube popped(obviously). But it didn't break even though it looked like it should have broke. And it was pretty easy to put the pieces back together. The uv coating is really nice as well. I personally like matte better usually but the uv coating on this one for some reason just feels better than other cubes. Overall the cube is like a 9.5/10. Not a 10 just because the u, d alignment magnet is just a bit weak. But it's probably a 10 if you count the price. And definitely a 100 for the fact that a sq1 is compatible for all skill level. And one small advice for those who are starting sq1 for the first time. Sq1 is a lot harder than you think. The beginner method is easy but if your thinking of actually speedcubing sq1 you should think carefully before buying an expensive cube. That happened to me and I'm so glad I didn't buy the expensive picube version. I think I'm better with 3x3 and 4x4😅

i dont have any other square-1’s to compare it to, but this one turns smoothly and can corner cut. the magnets are on the stronger side and when i flick the top or bottom layers, it can sometimes overshoots, but it doesn’t really affect my solves.

The V2 is a nice upgrade while maintaining a very good price point.
Feel and look are improved relative to the V1, magnets are a welcomed addition and add to accuracy of slice turns particularly. The Square-1 is such a fun puzzle to learn. I am happy with the V1 as my first Square-1, but am really enjoying the V2.

To be honest, this is such an awesome square 1. The uv coating adds a great finishing touch and the magnets are super strong. Would definitely recommend getting this square 1.
