I have similar thoughts on this cube with the MGC 6x6 about how they're very budget friendly and that I would highly recommend these to bug cube beginners.
The MGC 7x7 actually feels quite big which might make it a little hard gripping the cube in your hands. Even as a person with long fingers, I didn't find holding a cube this size being very easy. However, that is just me finding out that I am in a need for a different 7x7 that lets me hold it comfortably. When I got this cube straight out of the box, I had no problem with it because I was a total beginner to 7x7. As I got better and faster at it, I began to realize that I was in a need of an upgrade. So therefore, I looked for a fast and smaller 7x7 in which I found the MoYu AoFu WRM. It's definitely faster and I could grip the cube much better. What also surprised me is that the AoFu is smaller than the MGC 6x6. MGC is just too big even for me with large hands.
For beginners, the size of the cube shouldn't be too much of a problem. I didn't really worry about the size that much when I was starting 7x7. If you are a beginner and don't really care much about the size, the MGC 7x7 is perfect, for the performance and the price. The faster option is the AoFu but it will cost more.
