What a cube, from QiYi X-Man Designs!

I bought the X-Man Designs Tornado Pioneer V3 as a potential main. Regular price for the TV3 is $44. SCS had the TV3 on sale during Black Friday and I was able to buy it for $35. I performed 500 solves on this cube before posting this review. I purchased SuperNova service from SCS and have added Lunar lube once. I have the cube set up on axis adjustment "1" (tightest), spring tension "3" (default), and magnet force "1" (weakest).

PROS
Smooth, smooth, smooth, and quiet! There is just enough magnet attaction to keep my turns honest, but not get in the way of initiating turns. Corner cutting is excellent, and the cube really rewards fast turns. It will forward corner all the way past 45 degrees (50?), and backward cut at about 15 degrees at my settings. Auto alignment occurs from about 15 degrees with slight initial press. I prefer UV coating on stickerless cubes, and X-Man Design's coating is as good as Gan's. Removing the center caps, axis and spring tension are adjustments are all made without tools (though magnet adjustments requires a poky device, like the one provided). The plastic feels very nice providing a muted sound, and twisting is very forgiving. The price I paid for this cube represents a great value for a flagship cube, and I find myself reaching for this (or the Guhong Pro) anytime I want to solve while the family is watching TV.

CONS
Adjusting magnet force requires a tool (provided), though that likely will be played with over the first 100 solves and left alone after that.

VERDICT
This is a great cube. I rotate this cube through about as often as my other mains (Gan 12, Gan 15, Moyu WRM V9) and I find twisting it rewarding and satisfying, either solving or spamming algs. On my turning feel ranking, I currently have all my mains, including this one, as 10s, with this at least as great as the Gans. All of my mains have very similar AO100 times, even pinky tricks are satisfying since initiating turns takes little effort (Not as airy as the Gan 15, but right where it needs to be.) This easily earns five stars.

The best cube I have ever owned.

This cube is super fast and the magnets are super strong which it makes it faster. This is the cube which broke my PB (28 seconds). You can also adjust the magnets however you want. The most smartest and the most amazing part about this cube is you don’t need any adjustment tool to do your adjustments ( except for the magnets). When you open the cap there is a little handle that you can pull out and do you adjustments. I think this is super smart and cool!

One of my favorite cubes.

I got the limited firefly version in a mystery gift and I really enjoyed it. I then decided I'd like to have a stickerless version to carry in my backpack. I probably have 30 3x3s but this has been my favorite

An honest review of the TV3 Pioneer

The Tornado V3 is a Legendary 3x3 for obvious reasons, many people consider it to be the best and there is a LOT of hype surrounding the Tornado line. Something needs to be addressed however, and it is the flaws of the cube and its weaknesses. This puzzle, along with the V4 which I have tried are NOT for everybody. The corner cutting even on the loosest setting is not great. And the cube can tend to have kind of a blocky and restricted feel that I find makes me lock up during certain algs. Anything below a 3 on travel distance tends to invite corner twists into solves. And on the V3 the magnets seem to like to adjust themselves.
I also need to mention. I do love this puzzle, I really enjoy the smoothness of the turning and feel like this cube is definitely a top choice... however I feel it is unjustified to only talk about the positives for the sake of hype.
The main thing to consider when looking at this puzzle or any other Tornado series puzzle is how flexible you like your cube to feel. The tornado has a fairly restricted and blocky turning style that suits more experienced cubers or people who prefer a more rigid puzzle very well. If you tend to prefer more flexible puzzles with more forgiving corner cutting and a little less stability I would consider a WRM 10 or a Dayan Guhong Pro.
Overall the Tornado V3 is a very solid cube, but the turning feel of the cube is VERY distinctive and caters highly towards accurate turning with minimal corner cutting. If you feel as if though those are qualities you can take full advantage of the Tornado line might be right up your alley. But you should definitely consider that before committing upwards of 40 dollars to a 3x3

Very nice... or is it?

I got the Pioneer UV Coated one and I would say that maglev is too much for this cube. It's abnormally fast even on the tightest settings, I just can't comprehend all of it's might, may be I will get used to it but now I just make these casual U2, M2 and D2 with just one fingerflick. I think the Flagship version is much better but this is still a very good cube. Overall 2.997/3 recommend it
