The gan 12… it is super good really buttery smooth once you add the cosmic lubricants but right out of the box is extremely dry and other thing to point out it looks like they redesigned the core magnets from the counters more similar to the gan 16 now instead of the old long magnets the old gan 12 used to have kinda disappointed in that

The GAN 12 fully decked out was my first speed cube. I watched dozens of review videos and tier lists, and even though it had been out for a few years, everyone said it’s still a top-tier cube. Set all sorts of world records, including the recent one by Teodor Zajder at 2.76 Seconds. My personal preference is for the strongest corner to center magnets, so I took the time to swap them out. Also set the corner magnets to the strongest setting. Lubed it with SCS “Comet” for more speed. Then I loosened it to the point of losing control and went back a click to get it back. At the time of writing this review, the GAN 16 Max is probably the cube to get. But if you have the money, I’d still buy the GAN 12 just to see what it feels like to have a cube that dominated for half a decade.

This cube was a GAME CHANGER! I couldn't believe how good this cube was! But its the price.... If you are looking for a decently Priced 3x3 speedcube then i would recommend the X-Man tornado v3 or the Dayan Guhong

Out of the box, the cube is butter smoothy, kinda blocky but i dont mind that. It is also quite fast, but i wouldnt say as fast as the speedcubes today like the gan 16 and the weilong v11 and the super weilong v2. REALLLY stable bc of its auto alignment. Lockups on this cube happen quite frequently but this cube reacts to lube really well, so with some good lube and good setup you wont lock up as much. I highly reccomend you dont put it on the looset settings possible because it is very likley to pop. Can do like a u3 or u4 with a lot of force so its quite fast. Overall rating: 8.9/10. Would prefer some cubes over this cube but if i have to use this cube for the rest of my life i would still be happy, cus its still one of the best cubes out there.

Once I got the cube, I checked out the accessories and the CFOP method on the paper didn’t really work for me, and good thing I already knew CFOP myself. I turned the cube, it helped my times get 10 seconds faster, but one thing about this cube is that the magnets sometimes turn 2 times when I just wanted to turn it one time which made me lose track of a algorithm I was doing. Great cube and pretty much controllable for me, but way too expensive. If your looking for a fast cube, but a bit uncontrollable cube, which I recommend not to use in a competition and just play with it, then this is a cube for you

I tried this from a friend roughly 4 years ago, coming back to write a review since we got another comparable release, the 16. Since it was early maglev technology, it really set a benchmark for cubes, similar to the concepts of the 11. I will say though, I find it that the frosted version felt slightly different than the UV coated version when turning, although they are the exact same internally, might just be me.

Regardless, fantastic cube and in terms of just Gan 3x3's, second only to the 16.

I love the speedcube itself because it is so smooth. However, it comes really greasy on the outside. I was able to clean it off, but once you use it, then it gets greasy again.

I love this cube!! I'm a serious speedcuber, and usually get sub 20 solves, but I like this better actually than the gan 16. It feels smoother, and I just like the general feel of the 12. Its also way better if you take into account the price.

This is as good as it gets. Some people say that the 16 is better but come on, who is going to spend $30 more for a few tiny tweaks. The UFO center on the 16 just makes it feel like a MoYu. I think this the best gan cube and will always be.
