This is now my biggest cube so far. It is surprisingly compact and lightweight compared to my old 13x13—which I dropped and shattered. The 14x14 is noticeably smaller despite the extra layer, making it easier to hold and maneuver for long sessions without your hands getting as tired.
The outer layers turn very smoothly right out of the box, a pleasant surprise on big cube. The middle layers are quite tight—even after lubrication. The cube tends to lock up if you don’t keep it square. It's a common challenge with big cubes.
To avoid locking, I have to go slowly and keep the cube squared up. My first solve took just over 3 hours, largely due to pausing and adjusting whenever it locks. I did have one scary pop during that initial solve, but thankfully I was able to get it back together and continue as normal.
Overall, if you're into big cubes and value a more portable size over ultra-fast turning, this 14x14 is worth it. It's rewarding to solve and looks awesome on display. Be prepared for patience-testing locks and take your time. Recommended for big-cube enthusiasts who don't mind a deliberate, methodical solve.
