Don't want to disturb your parents or roommates when speedcubing? Here is our list of the quietest speed cubes.
3x3
Dayan Tengyun V1 and V2
The Tengyun V1 is arguably the quietest 3x3 on the market, with its primary internals and piece design giving it an extremely smooth and muted turning sound and feel. We recommend lubricating this puzzle to bring out its full performance, and tensioning relatively tightly to prevent corner twists, as the puzzle still corner cuts well at very tight tensions. The Tengyun V1 is well known for having very weak magnets, so if you prefer stronger magnets, we recommend looking elsewhere.
The Tengyun V2 is also very quiet, although not as quiet as the first iteration. However, it does boast extra a spring adjustment system which adds an extra layer of customisability to the puzzle. It also has a slightly different plastic feel and design in comparison to the Tengyun V1.
GAN 11 M Series
GAN's 11 M Series also features primary internals, along with GAN's trademark "honeycomb" piece design that also creates a quiet turning feel, although louder in comparison to the Tengyun series by comparison. However, the GAN 11 M Pro, the flagship of the series, also boasts adjustable magnets - something not seen on the Tengyun series.
GAN 356 XS and X
The predecessors to the GAN 11 M Series, the GAN 356 XS and X are also very quiet, but only include a spring adjustment system whilst the 11 M Pro includes both spring adjustment and magnet adjustment systems.

4x4+
Unfortunately, due to the larger number of pieces, bigger NxN puzzles tend to be louder due with the extra pieces creating more friction and noise. Instead, we recommend choosing 4x4s, 5x5s, 6x6s and 7x7s with performance in mind - read our article on choosing the best speed cube here.
